Workshop Overview & Objectives
The purpose of this one-day workshop is to bring together experts in the field to include current NIA NIH grantees and future NIHA applicants focused on the GUIDE model and/or other comprehensive dementia care models. The workshop will discuss differential access to GUIDE, impact of payment models in quality of care or access to care, and additional data that could be beneficial to researchers or GUIDE model healthcare providers. Furthermore, the workshop will address comprehensive dementia care models’ utility and challenges across the full disease continuum. The workshop participants will result in identifying potential research opportunities for dementia care coordination models and discuss available and needed data to address research gaps. Outputs should also inform researchers, patients, families, health systems, and federal partners working with GUIDE and other dementia care coordination programs.
